The Guildhall 100 Square
June 2023
On June 1st 2023, Primary Numerasee hosted its first outdoor maths event at the historic Guildhall Square, Derry. Designed to inspire young minds, promote a positive attitude towards mathematics, and ignite a lifelong passion for this important discipline, the event involved 100 primary school children from 18 different schools. The event was kindly sponsored by Derry City and Strabane District Council, Ulster University and Derry Credit Union. By encouraging teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking, participants immersed themselves in the joy of mathematics. From outdoor puzzles and challenges, to culminating in a group mathematical performance, every aspect of the event was crafted to make mathematics accessible, fun and relevant.
